Life at UiPath
The people at UiPath believe in the transformative power of automation to change how the world works. We’re committed to creating category-leading enterprise software that unleashes that power.
To make that happen, we need people who are curious, self-propelled, generous, and genuine. People who love being part of a fast-moving, fast-thinking growth company. And people who care—about each other, about UiPath, and about our larger purpose.
Could that be you?
Your mission
We're seeking a Principal Product Manager to help advance our Agentic Automation vision by giving enterprises the means to see, trust, and govern every agent they run, whether it runs on UiPath or somewhere else. Your scope spans three connected areas. Traces and observability capture the end-to-end record of what an agent did, what it cost, which model and configuration it used, and why. Those traces are the single source of truth for what happens across the UiPath platform, covering agents and every service that joins our trace infrastructure. Agent identity establishes who owns an agent, who it acts for, and what it's allowed to do. Governance ties the two together, and you'll be the Agents team's bridge to UiPath's broader platform governance. Across all three, you'll help define patterns the industry is still inventing, including OpenTelemetry for agents, cross-platform trace exchange, delegated permissions for agents, and policy and audit for non-deterministic systems.
This is a high-agency, AI-native role. You won't be running status meetings. You'll be deep in the product: reading traces, prototyping with coding agents, talking with customers and FDEs, and turning what you learn into crisp direction for the engineers who build it. Influence, not headcount, will be your default leverage.
Your north star is simple. Every agent in production should be visible, attributable, and governable. A builder should be able to debug a failed run in minutes. A finance owner should be able to trust the cost numbers. A security team should be able to answer "what did this agent do, and on whose behalf?" without opening a ticket
What you'll do at UiPath
Collaborate and help drive the multi-year vision for agentic observability and governance, across the UiPath platform and the outside agents it works with.
Own traces end to end. That covers the schema, completeness, and quality of every trace, and the accuracy of its cost, token usage, and LLM configuration data.
Build observability integrations with other platforms, including OpenTelemetry export and import, Microsoft Agent 365, and other agent and observability ecosystems. UiPath traces should flow out, and outside agent traces should flow in.
Bring UiPath services and teams onto our trace infrastructure, so traces cover the whole platform and not only agents. Run intake, prioritization, and coordination for trace requests across the company.
Own agent identity, so that every agent and every run maps to an owner, the user it acts for, and the permissions it used.
Serve as the Agents team's counterpart to platform governance, making sure traces and identity feed policy, audit, alerting, and controls like a kill switch.
Partner with our largest and most demanding customers, including those in regulated industries, on production deployments. Go deep enough to know which span was missing and why it mattered.
Use the platform as a builder. Stand up agents, read their traces, wire exports into real observability tools, and use coding agents to prototype. If a point needs a working example, build one.
Translate the fast-moving landscape of OpenTelemetry GenAI conventions, agent observability vendors, agent identity standards, and AI governance regulation into a coherent UiPath point of view and a shipping product.
Define the metrics that matter, such as trace coverage and completeness, cost accuracy, time to diagnose a failed run, and the share of agents with a clear owner and identity. Then prioritize ruthlessly against them.
Represent UiPath's agent observability and governance story to customers, partners, and industry forums.
What you'll bring to the team
6+ years in technical product management or engineering, with an emphasis on observability, developer platforms, identity, security, or applied agentic AI. You have a proven record of shipping infrastructure that builders and platform teams rely on.
Hands-on experience building observability, telemetry, tracing, or governance products. You've designed systems that capture, correlate, and act on signals across many services.
Deep fluency in agentic AI: models, tool calling, MCP / A2A, coding agents, agent design patterns, evals, and observability. You can read an agent trace, see right away what went wrong, and how the trace could be improved.
Working knowledge of identity and access concepts such as service identities, delegated permissions, OAuth, and audit, and a view on how they should apply to agents.
A builder's posture and a bias for action. You write code, or prompt agents to write it, so you can test ideas and ship prototypes. You treat coding agents as leverage rather than writing specs and waiting.
A first-principles mindset and comfort with ambiguity. You can reach a defensible direction in days, not quarters.
Sharp communication: a position doc that inspires bold decisions, a technical explanation a skeptical architect trusts, a demo that closes the room.
Comfort working in regulated, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
Ideal background
Built observability, telemetry, identity, security, or agent platform products at a frontier lab, hyperscaler, observability vendor, or automation vendor, or as an early PM at a startup in the space.
Has taken a product from 0 to 1 and felt the weight of it. Startup or founding PM experience is strongly preferred.
Has a point of view, with receipts, on how enterprises will observe and govern agents over the next 24 months.
