About Airwallex
Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own.
We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,300 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. How you'll make impact
As a Senior Salesforce Engineer, you'll drive the technical backbone of our GTM engine, building scalable systems and integrations that help Airwallex's commercial organisation operate at scale. You'll work across Salesforce and supporting platforms, balancing reliable delivery with strong engineering practices and responsive production support.
Lead the design and development of complex backend features across Salesforce and supporting systems, writing scalable, high-performing code.
Build reliable, resilient integrations and APIs connecting Salesforce, Marketo, and other GTM platforms.
Support complex production issues, identify root causes, and drive permanent fixes that reduce technical debt.
Champion engineering quality and best practices across the team, helping shape how code is reviewed and tested.
Design data models and structures that keep information flowing smoothly and reliably across systems.
Use modern AI coding tools to accelerate delivery while applying sound engineering judgment to review and validate AI-assisted work.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable systems and help shape how Airwallex's commercial organisation operates at scale.
You'll work from our Singapore office five days a week.
What we're looking for
Essentials
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of software engineering experience in backend development, using technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, or Go.
2+ years of hands-on Salesforce backend experience, with a track record of designing scalable systems.
Practical experience with modern integration patterns, including RESTful APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architecture.
Preferred
Experience incorporating AI coding tools into your daily development, with sound judgment when reviewing and validating AI-generated code.
Experience working in a high-growth technology company.
Experience building a complex Salesforce organisation spanning multiple offices and instances.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and translate trade-offs for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to balance long-term projects alongside urgent production issues.
You'll thrive here if
You own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken.
You're comfortable with ambiguity. Give you a problem, not a prescription, and you'll run with it.
You know when to align and when to just decide. Collaboration isn't a way to avoid accountability.
You simplify complexity rather than hiding behind it.
Learn more about your team
Growth at Airwallex is building a unified, AI-native growth system across product, sales, and marketing. Rather than applying AI to isolated tasks, we use customer context, machine learning, automation, and continuous learning to transform how Airwallex acquires, activates, converts, retains, and expands customers.
You’ll build high-traffic platforms, experimentation frameworks, and intelligent decision systems that turn signals—such as company profile, product usage, lifecycle stage, behavior, and intent—into personalized journeys, next-best actions, and measurable incremental value.
The work spans both human + AI and autonomous operating models: AI-native tools that increase the leverage of growth teams, alongside agentic workflows that can research opportunities, launch and optimize campaigns, orchestrate customer journeys, and measure outcomes within clear strategies and guardrails.
The challenge is to combine consumer-technology speed with the precision, trust, and regulatory complexity of global B2B finance. If you enjoy owning ambiguous problems end to end, prototyping quickly, measuring real business impact, and using every outcome to improve the next decision, you’ll help define how an AI-native global financial platform grows.
